This method involves placing a small seed in carbon that is heated to 2000 degrees Fahrenheit and compressed to 1.5 million pounds per square inch (PSI). The intensity causes the carbon surrounding the seed to melt, forming a diamond when it cools.


Chemical Vapour Deposition (CVD)

In this technique, the seed is placed in a chamber full of carbon-rich gases, which are heated to 1500 degrees Fahrenheit. As a result of the high temperature, the gas turns into plasma, and carbon atoms are released. These carbon atoms then begin to form layers around the seed and grow into a diamond.
