Allison moved back to Michigan, and two weeks later, COVID lockdown procedures went into effect. Neither of us expected to find a partner during a pandemic, but we found each other anyway. It only took nine months for me to realize she was who I wanted to spend the rest of my life with, and I also knew I didn't just want a store bought diamond, or ring.
