Our story started seven wonderful years ago. We met during Superbowl weekend at a get together. We knew from the moment we saw each other it was meant to be and have been inseparable since that day. I popped the question today, 12/31/2024, New Year's Eve. I told my now fiance that I was going to work but instead went to our local lake (Wallowa Lake) and cleared all of the rocks so that I could spell out will you marry me in stones. I then called my better half and asked if she wanted to meet me at the lake because I was taking the rest of the day off and it was beautiful out. When she showed up she actually walked right past the message on the beach I had written with the rocks, which gave me enough time to grab the roses I had hidden and pull out the ring. By the time she turned around I was already on one knee ready to pop the question. It was perfect. We were both in tears and I was shaking like a leaf. On a funny note, I had a whole speech planned out but when I got on my knee our puppy proceeded to bark in my face incessantly so all I could do was point at the rocks and she finally read them and said YES!!
